On the road again
My parents are evacuating (again). This time to Arkansas.
I'm too tired to write more. An evening of high heels and fretting about my parents. I know they are fine, but I'm wondering when anything will seem honestly real again.
And what does "real" mean anymore anyway?

The utter weird bizzaritude of Ms NOLA's situation has finally crashed through my meninges. Here she is, a super-responsible, up-and-coming toiler in the field of publishing, worrying about her crazy rock-n-roll parents driving all over two states late at night and not calling when they get where they're going! It's enough to give a girl a crimp.
They've called. They're almost there. My mom said they've seen so many deer along the roads. This is no surprise. Animals do strange things and act unnaturally when storms are poised to appear.
I'm just worried about long term issues with my parents. I know they will survive the storms. I just worry about what will happen when everything settles.
Jesus gay, Lauren, Arkansas?! Do y'all have family/friends there??
Sigh. I'm worried too. Maybe they need another care package there?
It just keeps getting worse and worse...
